The third Sunday of lent year C, God calls us to reflect on His unwavering patience and our own personal journey of conversion, symbolized by the barren fig tree and a call to repentance.
This is clearly brought out in the last part of the Gospel. We are encouraged to seek God’s mercy and to offer forgiveness, recognizing that our stories, like the fig tree, can be re written through a renewed YES to God’s grace.
Christ also shows us the importance of living a fruitful life. He gives us a second chance so that we may bare fruits, he does not destroy us or forsake us.
In the first reading from Exodus, God promises to free Israelites from slavery, a reminder that God hears our cries and works to free us from our sins and struggles.

CONCLUDING PRAYER
God, in your unfailing love, hear our prayer.
Give us strength and courage to keep your Commandments,
to live in faithful obedience to your will,
as well as bearing fruits that will last forever,
especially during this time of lent.
Fill us with your Holy Spirit in all that we do.
Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be to the Father.
