Today’s Sunday scripture we see God doing something new for his people both in the first reading from Isaiah 43:16-21 and from the Gospel of John 8:1-11. In the first reading, the Lord is making a way in the sea as well as in the wilderness where things seemed impossible to humanity but he intended to show us how he is restoring hope in our lives as we approach Easter because he is ready to fulfil his promises to us. Giving us every reason to continue living and so despite of the difficulties of this present moment, the Lord will put a smile on our faces. So we must be optimistic about the future because of his endless love and mercy upon our salvation. He is inviting us not to lose hope but to keep going.
In the gospel, we see the Pharisees bringing the adulterous woman to Christ. They thought that Christ would condemn her immediately, giving them a chance to go ahead and stone her to death. However, Christ showed them that his ways are not human ways. He came to save and not to condemn. So instead Jesus restored her life and offered her another chance to live. “Go and sin no more.” The question is. Are you ready to be restored in Christ again?
